It is therefore not necessary to install a rail. The Ballslidetm carriages have so called "captive ball bearings", which means that the balls remain in the carriage, even if the carriage is not mounted, and can therefore be easily removed and placed on the mast when the mainsail is to be mounted. Series 6 for boats up to 12 m or a sailing area of 38
