It is a slightly thorny plant that produces long shoots and is therefore suitable for being trained along a trellis. The large, deep, red fruits are twice as big as raspberries and have a sweet sour taste. The tayberry can be eaten fresh, but can also be used to make delicious jam, juice or wine.
